Annotation |
Based on the author's experience as a Jewish child in Holland during World War II. After being separated from their parents, she and her sister hid from the Nazis in the upstairs room of a farmers's home for more than two years. The story shows the constant friction between the two pent-up sisters andf the nervous courage of the family that hid them. For grades 6-9 and older readers. Followed by "The Journey Back."
