Annotation |
Leo Tolstoy was a great nineteenth-century Russian author who opened a school for peasant children and wrote stories especially for them. The twenty-seven stories in this book are taken from his "Azbuka" (Primer). Some are based on Aesop's fables, others on Russian folktales, nature studies, and the work of children themselves. For grades 5-8 and older readers.
