Annotation |
Theodore Roosevelt was born in New York in 1858. His family had a long tradition of wealth, good works and public service. After graduating from Harvard, he was elected to the New York Assembly. During the Spanish-American War he organized the Rough Riders and led them up San Juan Hill. When President McKinley was killed, Roosevelt became president. For grades 5-8 and older readers.
