Annotation |
Benjamin Harrison was born in 1833 in Ohio. His great-grandfather was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, his grandfather was the ninth president, and his father was a member of Congress. After graduating from college and passing the bar, Benjamin moved to Indiana. A Civil War hero, he was elected to the Senate in 1881, and became president in 1888. For grades 5-8 and older readers.
