Annotation |
In 1892 Andrew Borden, one of the wealthiest men in Fall River, Massachusetts, and his wife are brutally murdered. Shockingly, Andrew's thirty-two-year-old daughter, Lizzie, is indicted for the murders. Using transcripts from the actual trial, the author places the reader in the jury box, as she unobtrusively explains how the legal system works, and the constitutional issues involved. For grades 5-8 and older readers.
