Annotation |
Wooden Leg was among those surviving warriors who fought against Custer at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Thomas Marquis, an agency physician for the Northern Cheyennes, thought that by writing a biography of Wooden Leg, readers would get a more human glimpse of what they considered the hostile Indians of that day. He spent many hours interviewing Wooden Leg and others to get a first-hand account of Custer's last stand. For high school and adult readers.
